Mueller Parks & Green Spaces
One of the first things that you’ll notice about the Mueller area is the abundance of nature. Boasting 140 acres of parks and greenways, there is always a place to take a stroll, play catch, or sit under a tree. The parks are popular without being crowded, with families and people working out.
- Mueller Lake Park: A 30-acre park with a 6.5-acre lake, walking trails, an amphitheater, and picnic areas, providing a serene environment for outdoor activities. This is the center of the neighborhood for outdoor activity and many Austinites love this park for its open spaces and walking/running trails. It is well manicured, maintained, and safe.

Parkside at Mueller is conveniently located near many of the best restaurants in the city. From Paco’s Tacos to L'Oca d'Oro, you can enjoy any level of dining. The tacos are delicious and offer a low key and affordable meal while upscale L'Oca d'Oro offers outstanding Italian fare. Many of the restaurants are walkable, like much of Mueller, and makes for a great day out walking through the parks, to the stores, and finishing off with a meal. Then if you still have room for desert, there are multiple options and Lick’s Honest Ice Cream is a popular spot to beat the heat and get something sweet.

Although Mueller is more of a family-friendly area there are some great nightlife options. You won’t find the craziness of downtown but more of the chill vibe of Austinites enjoying good food and good drinks. WhichCraft is a very popular place to grab a drink or pick up obscure alcohol to enjoy with friends at home. B.D Riley’s Irish Pub is another popular option for watching sports with delicious food and beverages. The accessibility of the area makes for a low stress night out with places that will quickly become weekend favorites.

Shopping Near Parkside At Mueller
As a mixed-use neighborhood that was planned from the very beginning to harmoniously combine commerce and residential areas, Mueller offers the usual weekly shopping options and unique local shops. With stores like H-E-B and Target nearby, you don’t have to leave the area for your groceries and other household needs. This is part of the reason that the Mueller neighborhood is so popular and nestled away despite being only a few miles from downtown. The planned neighborhood took into consideration the basic needs of families to make it all convenient.
You can also do your cloth shopping at Marshalls, Old Navy, and Foot Locker all within the shopping center nearby. Home Depot is right next door to those shops and covers household repairs and plant needs. You never need to leave the neighborhood and deal with the stress of the city, adding to the relaxed nature of the community.
Mueller Area Access
When you do need to venture out to the city or catch a flight, Mueller offers multiple ways to quickly navigate Austin. I-35 is a major highway and offers North and South travel options and since I-35 tends to be busy, residents of Mueller can opt for 130. A toll road that moves quickly and can take you to South Austin or North Austin in a matter of minutes with no lights. This is also the quickest way to get to the Austin Airport and is an easy route for minimal stress. Highway 290 is another major access point, which has many interesting stores and restaurants along it, and provides some East to West options.
Downtown Austin and Lake Austin are both extremely close, only a few miles away, so if you are looking for a fun day on the water or a night out on the city, it’s a quick trip. You can jump across I-35 and immediately have dozens and dozens of restaurant options, museums, parks, and more.
Lastly, the CapMetro Rail has stops in mueller offering a quick, easy, and quiet option to get downtown or all the way to Leander. This is a popular option to avoid the traffic of Austin midday or the parking of downtown. Mueller was designed to be walkable and the metro rail builds on that idea and opens up the rest of the city for walking.
